Data and Urban Metabolism: Data Processing
This course seeks to train people who are interested in conducting fieldwork research within urban metabolism. In this course we take documents in different formats like excel, PDF, Shapefiles and CSV among others and learn how to convert them into a standardised format. This will allow us to input all the data into our centralised and accessible Metabolism of Cities Data Hub. Through this process you will learn how to create interactive maps and graphs that will help visualise your data in any way you choose.
This course is the second instalment in a series called “Data & Urban Metabolism”. Students who participated in the first course of Data Collection can continue to work on the city they had previously chosen. New students interested in the course are welcomed if there is still space in the course and they will have to choose an existing city to work on from the Metabolism of Cities Data Hub.
Note: We do not currently offer content for this course in English. There is however the Spanish course version and relevant modules for processing from the CityLoops project course.
